Healthcare cleaning

Cleaning priorities for medical premises

Healthcare and medical premises have specific scheduling, access and documentation requirements. We discuss these at the walkthrough stage and agree everything in writing.

  • Patient-facing area priorities and access windows
  • Scheduling around clinic times and vulnerable patients
  • Written scope agreed before any work starts
  • COSHH information available on request
  • Fully insured
  • COSHH information where required
  • RAMS provided where required
  • AccessNI where relevant
  • Regular quality checks
  • Managed supplies where required

What healthcare cleaning covers

We agree what is in scope before work starts. A typical healthcare cleaning programme covers the following areas on each visit.

Patient waiting areas

Seating, floors, magazines and waiting room surfaces cleaned consistently in line with how busy each session is.

Reception desks and counters

High-touch surfaces wiped down with appropriate products, including screens, payment points and reception furniture.

Patient washrooms

Toilets, basins, taps and fixtures sanitised on every visit, with consumable replenishment where supplies are managed within the contract.

Corridors and circulation

Floors and high-contact wall panels in corridors and stairwells kept clean to manage cross-traffic between clinical and waiting zones.

Staff kitchens and rest rooms

Staff welfare areas included on the agreed schedule alongside patient-facing zones.

Non-clinical consulting room surrounds

Skirting, floors and non-clinical surfaces within or near consulting rooms, following your written instructions on access and sequencing.

Aligned to your practice policies

Our teams are briefed on infection-control expectations at a general level and on site-specific rules you provide, including zones that require particular care or restricted access. We do not replace your clinical responsibilities, but we align day-to-day cleaning with your policies.

  • Scheduling outside patient hours: early mornings, lunchtime windows or end-of-day visits to reduce overlap with vulnerable patients
  • Discretion on site: all encounters with patients, carers and staff handled with professionalism and minimal disruption
  • RAMS provided where required for your building, estate or PCN requirements
  • COSHH information available for all cleaning products used on your premises
  • AccessNI checks can be arranged where your policy requires vetting for contractors on the premises

We support your hygiene baseline, not replace it

RexCleaning provides contract cleaning for the non-clinical and supporting areas of healthcare premises. Statutory clinical waste, infection-prevention duties and decontamination procedures remain with the practice.

Where we are asked to work near or within clinical spaces, we follow your written instructions on room readiness, product restrictions and sequencing so clinical governance is not compromised.

How RexCleaning works

Every healthcare cleaning contract starts with a site visit. We review layout, access and practice policies together before agreeing scope.

  1. 01

    Site walkthrough

We visit to understand the layout, patient flow, restricted zones and access arrangements before agreeing any scope.

  2. 02

    Scope agreed

Areas, tasks, scheduling windows and documentation requirements are confirmed in writing aligned to your practice policies.

  3. 03

    Team briefed

Access, alarm codes, discretion expectations and any patient-facing protocols are confirmed before the first visit.

  4. 04

    Regular cleaning

Cleaning runs outside core patient hours where possible — early morning, lunchtime windows, or after close — with minimal disruption.

  5. 05

    Standards reviewed

Service levels are monitored and the specification revisited with the practice manager whenever your diary or building changes.
